About Yayasan Cheshire Indonesia (Wisma Cheshire)

Yayasan Cheshire Indonesia (YCI), better known as Wisma Cheshire, is a non-profit social foundation established in Indonesia in 1974 as part of the global Leonard Cheshire network. The foundation is dedicated to empowering people with physical disabilities through vocational training, education, advocacy, and independent living programs.

Located in Cilandak, South Jakarta, Wisma Cheshire provides temporary residential accommodation for up to 30 trainees (residents) while they participate in skills development programs designed to improve self-reliance and employment opportunities. Residents receive accommodation, meals, basic healthcare support, and access to physiotherapy and nursing services.

The foundation focuses on supporting individuals with physical disabilities who can independently manage their daily activities using mobility aids such as wheelchairs, prostheses, or canes. Its mission is to help participants gain practical skills, confidence, and opportunities for independent living.
