About Jakarta Komodos Rugby Football Club

Established more than four decades ago by expatriates working in Indonesia, the Jakarta Komodos Rugby Football Club (JKRFC) welcomes male and female players of all nationalities and age groups. The club was originally formed as ISCI Rugby in 1971 by members of the International Sports Club of Indonesia. It is now a registered legal entity as a “Perkumpulan” under Indonesian law and a member of the Indonesian Rugby Union (PRUI).

The Jakarta Komodos is Indonesia’s most successful rugby club, consisting of a Veterans’ team, a Seniors’ side, and age-group teams down to Under-7s, with more than 200 registered players.

The Junior Program

The youth and junior rugby programmes are second-to-none in Indonesia, with more than 150 players of all shapes, sizes, and abilities ranging in age from five years to their late teens, supported by a highly supportive volunteer network of players, parents, coaches, and sponsors.

The club welcomes players of all skill levels and backgrounds and actively promotes girls’ rugby, with female players joining from the U8 age group and moving through the ranks to a girls-only division at Under 14 and Under 16.

The club recently hosted the IMR Jakarta Komodos Rugby 10’s 2025 Tournament on May 17, 2025, at GBK Rugby Field in Jakarta — now the largest single-day rugby tournament in Southeast Asia.

The Jakarta Rugby 10’s is confirmed to return on May 23, 2026, at GBK Rugby Field, featuring Men’s Open 10’s, Women’s 7’s, and Vet’s Open 10’s (40+) divisions.
