The Union des Français de l’Etranger (UFE) – Section Indonésie is a long-established community organization that assists French-speaking expatriates and families in adapting to life in Jakarta and Indonesia. The association is open to all French-speaking families regardless of nationality and provides a valuable social and support network for newcomers as well as long-term residents.
Located near the Lycée Français de Jakarta (LFJ), the UFE community center serves as a gathering place where members can meet, exchange information, and participate in a wide range of cultural, educational, sporting, and social activities. Facilities and activities may vary throughout the year, but often include a community library, family-oriented programs, fitness and wellness activities, language classes, social gatherings, and networking opportunities for expatriates living in Indonesia.
The organization also regularly arranges bazaars, coffee mornings, excursions, family events, gala dinners, and seasonal celebrations that help strengthen ties within the French-speaking community in Jakarta.
For many newly arrived expatriates, UFE provides an important support system by helping members build friendships, understand local life, and integrate more comfortably into the Indonesian environment. Families with young children often appreciate the social opportunities and community resources available through the organization.
The association is nonpolitical and open to everyone within the French-speaking community.
General membership is free. Certain specialized activities or childcare-related programs may involve additional participation fees.

L’Union des Français de l’Etranger (UFE) – Section Indonésie est une association francophone de longue date qui a pour objectif d’aider les expatriés et leurs familles à mieux s’adapter à la vie à Jakarta et en Indonésie. L’association est ouverte à tous les francophones, quelle que soit leur nationalité.
La Maison de l’UFE, située à proximité du Lycée Français de Jakarta, constitue un lieu de rencontre convivial où les membres peuvent échanger des informations, développer leur réseau social et participer à diverses activités culturelles, sportives et communautaires.
Des activités variées sont régulièrement proposées aux membres, notamment des cours de langues, des activités sportives et de bien-être, des événements sociaux, des coffee mornings, des sorties, des excursions et des manifestations culturelles destinées aux familles et aux nouveaux arrivants.
L’association organise également des bazars, des dîners de gala et différents événements communautaires tout au long de l’année afin de renforcer les liens entre les membres de la communauté francophone à Jakarta.
Apolitique, l’association est ouverte à tous les francophones.
L’adhésion générale est gratuite. Certaines activités spécialisées ou programmes pour enfants peuvent entraîner des frais de participation supplémentaires.
