About The Royal Society of St. George Jakarta Branch

About the Royal Society of St. George

The aim of the Society is to foster the love of England and strengthen Indonesian ties with the English people by spreading the knowledge of our history, traditions and ideals. We strive to further English interests every where and to provide focal points where English men, women and their friends may gather together in a sociable environment. We maintain a strong programme of support for various Indonesian charities and worthy causes. The society has been thriving in Jakarta for over 35 years. At the end of the day, the society manages a social calendar for individuals, visitors, family residents and long-term residents to meet in a comfortable environment to share ideas, laughs and support.
The society runs two key events per year. The first in the calendar is the St George’s Medieval Banquet which falls towards the end of April and celebrates St George’s Day (23rd April).  This is followed after the Summer break with slightly more formal dinner in the 3rd week of October, in celebration of the Battle of Trafalgar (21st October).
