About ASEAN Women’s Circle of Jakarta (AWC)

The ASEAN Women’s Circle of Jakarta (AWC) was established on 8 August 1975 by Madame Nelly Adam Malik, wife of the then Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, together with the wives of ASEAN Ambassadors in Indonesia and women officials from Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The purpose of the organization is to promote mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation among its members while helping to increase awareness of ASEAN’s values and objectives. Through a variety of social, cultural, educational, and charitable activities, AWC encourages closer ties among the peoples of ASEAN and its dialogue partners.

Over the years, AWC has organized charity bazaars, fundraising events, cultural programs, seminars, social gatherings, and community outreach projects that support charitable causes throughout Indonesia and the ASEAN region.
